Examples include cheese snacks (puffs and curls), pork rinds, veggie straw snacks, maize puffs, and more. A type of extrusion used in the processing of food is called food extrusion. It is an HTST (high temperature, short time) process. It is a procedure in which a combination of substances is pushed through a specific-design perforation in a perforated plate or die.
